Embroidered Dog Collar Or Leash Giveaway!!!

This has easily been the best week of my life. I loved all of the congratulatory comments and well wishes on my last post, so what better way to say thanks than by offering a brand new giveaway?

This one's not only for my favorite human readers, but also for the pooches who you love! If you know me at all, you know about the tremendous spot in my heart reserved for dogs. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you're living with chronic illness, there is no better medicine than a furry friend; a constant source of love who recognizes your pain and curls up next to you. No questions asked. So don't they deserve a little something special too?

Today's giveaway is brought to you by the wonderful Debbie McLaughlin, the owner of "Initial It Online Embroidered Gifts". I asked Debbie to write a little something about her company...

"My love for sewing started when I was in 7th grade and my grandmother helped me make a lime green mini skirt. Many years later my husband bought me an embroidery machine for Christmas. I have used it almost every day since.Everyone loves to see their name on a special gift so I started Initial It Online in 2006. I make and embroidered baby gifts, towels, key chains, travel mugs, spa wraps and slippers, to name a few. My most popular item is the monogrammed dog collar! They are not only cute with polka dots and stripes, they eliminate the need for jingling tags when the phone number and name are stitched right onto the collar. Our yellow lab, Maggie and our rescue dog, Dusty would cruise the neighborhood every time the gate was left open so their collars were always on them. Now we have a Yorkie named Rosie but her collar is to small to fit her name. It is so satisfying when a customer tells me that "Sir Snitzle " loves his collar or "Lola" looks adorable. Their dogs are their kids, best friends and companions."

-Debbie McLaughlin

Bellow you'll find 36 color swatches which represent all of the choices you'll have for embroidery thread! The winner will also get to pick the collar or leash of their choice, specifying the size and color (colors/patterns can be found in the Etsy store). Note: only collars under 14'' will fit an embroidered name.

  4. Maya! What a great promotion. My dog Addison would love this! (well let's be honest, she wouldn't know the difference) but she has been my furry pillow through years of intestinal distress, and now that I am in remission we are loving life together, going camping, hiking, swimming, and more!!!

  5. Entry #1: This would be for my best furfriend Arwen. She has been there through thick and thin with me, 10 years now, which I can't believe. She is such a beautiful soul and so sensitive to all the things I have been going through with RA, FMS, and the very ugly divorce. She sticks right by my side, comes to give kisses when I'm down, and is just my best friend right now, sometimes my only friend.
Entry #2: I liked the Initial It Online FB page (i'm Persephone Wanders on FB)
Entry #3: I liked your FB page. Also many animal charities are near and deal to me, but I often donate to our local Humane Society..

#1 The leash would make an excellent addition to our wonderful companion, Mizar. Although his two biological brothers would be jealous, I think he deserves it more. Especially after his car accident 18 months ago, we never thought he'd walk, but now we're two of a kind, both with hip issues! We walk together, play together, and have fun together! He is my pal and truly understands the pain I am in because of my ankylosing spondylitis.

#2 I am really glad you are showcasing this small business! What a cute idea! I don't just like them on Facebook, I love them!

#3 Your Facebook page always makes me smile, so, yes I like it! :-D

  7. This would be for our chocolate lab, Nora. She is an absolute "dream dog"! She came into our lives unexpectedly when a friend (who is a nurse at a hospital) heard that an elderly man who was nearing the end of his life, was worried that he would have to give his dog to the animal shelter because he could no longer take care of her. Well, my friend told us about this, and we just couldn't fathom letting this sweet dog loose having a family. We were not planning on getting a dog, but we immediately agreed to adopt her. What a blessing & joy our sweet Nora is! I can now not imagine not having her. :)

  8. Okay, well I'm not really sure how much I need to tell you about the special pooch in my life seeing as you've met the goof himself... :) But as you know, Bennett is the sweetest and silliest golden retriever. I'm really not sure a more loving pup exists. Justin and I are lucky, lucky, lucky!
